Privacy policy

How Yamba Weddings collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information, and the choices you have.

Last updated 1 November 2026

1. Who we are

Yamba Weddings ("we", "us", "our") runs the online wedding directory at yambaweddings.com.au. The site lists wedding venues, suppliers and accommodation in and around Yamba, Angourie and the Clarence Valley, New South Wales.

We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy applies to everyone who uses the site: couples planning a wedding, their guests, wedding businesses that list with us, and newsletter subscribers.

Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@yambaweddings.com.au.

2. Information we collect

We only collect personal information that we need to run the site, and you can browse the directory without giving us any.

When you contact a business through an enquiry form

Your name, email address, phone number (optional), wedding date and location (optional), your message, and the business you contacted. If you're logged in, we also link the enquiry to your account so you can see it on your favourites page.

When you create a couple account

Your name, email address and password (passwords are handled by our platform provider and are never visible to us), plus the listings you save as favourites and the enquiries you've sent.

When you list a business

Your name, login email, business name and contact details, business address, website and social media links, logo, photos, descriptions, testimonials you choose to publish, and records of your subscription, payments, renewals and listing changes. Information you add to your listing is published on the site so couples can find and contact you.

When you submit your wedding

Your names, email address, wedding date, venue and location details, the story of your day, your list of suppliers, links to your wedding video, and the photos you upload.

When you subscribe to our newsletter

Your email address, your first name if you give it, and the page you signed up on.

When you pay for a listing

Payments are processed by our platform provider, Wix, and its payment processors (such as Stripe). We receive a record of the payment (amount, date, plan and status) but we never see or store your full card details.

Automatically

Like most websites, our platform records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. See Cookies and analytics.

3. How we use it

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for any purpose you wouldn't reasonably expect.

4. Who we share it with

5. Storage and overseas transfer

Our site runs on the Wix platform. Your information is stored on servers operated by Wix and its providers, which may be located outside Australia, including in the United States, Europe and Israel. By using the site you acknowledge that your information may be stored and processed overseas. We choose providers that maintain recognised security standards.

6. Newsletter and marketing

We only send our newsletter to people who sign up for it. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we'll remove you. Service emails about your account, listing or payments aren't marketing, so you'll still receive those while your account or listing is active.

7. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files your browser stores so a site can remember you. We and our platform provider use them to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, protect against spam and fraud, and understand how the site is used in aggregate so we can improve it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, such as logging in, may not work without them.

8. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Access to enquiries, submissions, subscriber lists and account records is limited to the site administrators. No website can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Enquiry records are kept so you can see them in your account and so we can investigate delivery problems. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

9. Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@yambaweddings.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. Businesses can update most of their information themselves from their dashboard, and couples can remove favourites at any time. If you'd like a published wedding story or photos taken down, let us know and we'll remove them.

10. Children

The site is meant for adults planning or servicing weddings. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, please email us first and we'll try to resolve it within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated, and we'll note any significant changes on the site. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the updated policy.
